This artwork, "Guarded with Love," represents the twenty-fifth week of gestation, a poignant halfway milestone in my pregnancy. It embodies the beauty of growth, both physical and emotional, during this time. The soft, unfolding shapes and colours reflect the delicate evolution of life within me, as our daughter grew stronger with each passing day.
Inspired by the journal entry: “I will guard her with everything that I have, my baby girl,” this piece captures the essence of a mother’s unwavering devotion and protective love. As I painted, I thought of the precious moments spent with my partner, cherishing the bond we formed throughout the journey, and hoping to soak up every bit of the experience before it slipped away.
Through this piece, I hope to share the serenity and joy of that special time when love, life, and nature intertwined to create something truly beautiful.
